History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera Review - Book 2 of 2017
Hi. I'm sorry I procrastinate writing reviews. But here we go.
HISTORY IS ALL YOU LEFT ME - ADAM SILVERA - 5/5 STARS
Okay so I read History Is All You Left Me way back the day before it's release date and I read it in one sitting. ONE SITTING. (Is it just me or did you read that the way Liza Koshy says A DOLLA?!)
Just me? Okay. Anyways, this book was a whirlwind of absolutely beautiful storytelling. Adam Silvera is a master of the sad but beautiful story and he perfectly told a story about love and grief with real characters and diverse representation. This book had a lot of really important and really powerful messages about LGBTQIAP+ rep as well as mental illness, specifically OCD, and grief. It was also a wonderful coming of age story about trials and tribulations being a teenager and going through a hard time. This book beautifully represented how it feels as a teenager to have the whole world against you and like nothing is ever going to work out in your favor. I lost count of how many times I SOBBED whilst reading this book.
There isn't much else I want to say about the specifics of the book (Maybe because I read it so long ago CURSE MY PROCRASTINATION) except GO READ IT RIGHT NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T. This book is a lovely and important #ownvoices story that has blessed the world with its story.
